Injuries
at Work
If you have suffered injuries at work, our
personal injury solicitors are able to help and at no costs to you
- the solicitors claim all their costs from the party responsible
for your accident.
Statutory regulations have done much to improve Health and Safety
at Work but in 2000/2001 the Health and Safety Executive still reported
the occurrence of over 26,000 serious accidents at work. In
many instances the injuries may have been contributed to by the actions
of the injured employee. However, whilst it is often found that an
employee is partly responsible for their own injury, they will usually
still recover compensation.
You should not be put into situations of unnecessary danger - for
the sake of a job. Employers owe their employees a very high duty
of care in safeguarding their well-being, and it should be - if
you feel that this duty has been breached then please contact us to
discuss whether you have a valid claim for the injuries sustained.
Injury can include not only physical injuries but also disease claims
arising from exposure to dangerous substances - for example our personal
injury solicitors are still processing claims due to exposure to asbestos.
This also applies to the self-employed - if someone else was
responsible for the area where you worked, you may find you have a
claim even though you are self-employed. A good example is a self-employed
sub-contractor being exposed to dangerous working conditions due to
a negligent main contractor.
A detailed knowledge of all the regulations
governing safety at work is essential to enable assessment of whether
compensation can be claimed. If you believe you have suffered injury
in the course of your work (whether you are employed or self-employed),
contact our specialist personal injury team for advice on how
to proceed. We have the knowledge to help you.
